Artist's Comments

[A Comic : The artist and the character]
A short silent comic...

"When love and skill work together expect a masterpiece." -John Ruskin (1819 - 1900)

Well, actually I was bored a day ago. But I decided to do something unusual.

This is a short slightly-silent comic about how the artist express his feelings through art. Kinda cliche, but yeah. I was kinda embarrassed how I drew the 3rd to the last panel. <_<;

"In life beauty perishes, but not in art." -Leonardo da Vinci (1452 - 1519) "Notebooks"

Took me a day to finish this (and my hand is kinda tired.) I used 0.3-0.4 signpen and 0.5 gelpen for the line-art.

Enjoy reading, everyone! :boogie:

Daily Deviation

Given 2007-09-29

'-The Artist and The Character-' doesn't need a description to understand why it deserves a DD feature. ~megawolf77 did a great job at capturing the feel of the quote at the bottom, and there is nothing else I should say because this lovely and strangely beautiful piece is a must-see, and once you check and enjoy it you will realize why... i like the way you drew your human self (it reminds me of a character called Hanataro because of your hair)

WHO ARE YOU CALLING A RUNT SO SMALL THAT CAN ONLY BE SEEN BY A MAGNIFINE GLASS!?

It's a tricky piece to digest, but very interesting as well. I'm sure most artists feel as if they wish their characters were real at some point or another.

If you are able to draw something, then draw it already!

Lots of thinking in this comic... I really like it a lot. I bet you wish you could do that in reality ;)

You know what John Ruskin said is so true. When you create something fictional and you emerse yourself into it enough... you do feel that what you have created has an existance of it's own.

Ever since I watched you the way you draw expressions really draws me in, then the detail and creativity keeps me interested. Another great piece Megawolf!
